About «Small Acts of Sex and Electricity »
It grew on me! I never really warmed up to the characters, but I did warm up to the prose—the turns of phrase, imagery, and the references—quite interesting and even poetic. And there was enough sordidness in the otherwise banally complicated relationships between the adults in the story to keep me coming back to the book. But I think the best stuff happens between the narrator Mattie and the two young daughters of Mike & Jane. Four stars is probably a bit much. 3.5 is probably more accurate.
