A trifle. This is an example of a good production artist (especially adept with Photoshop) who is so tied to photo reference that the art seems frozen no matter how many tortured kung-fu poses the actors try to do. To make matters worse, the writing is fairly weak, and the clone-ridden plot seems like a tired excuse to use the same actors over and over again. The "Boilerplate" character, a steampunk Victorian "robot," is an interesting idea that never quite pays off. Too bad.
The writer and artist would probably say I missed the "parody" aspect of the book, and didn't "get" their sense of humor. They would be correct.
