Susan Tekulve is the subject of some strong buzz regarding her new novel IN THE GARDEN OF STONE.If the novel features the big-hearted love of language and the lively devotion to strong, complicated character that I found in SAVAGE PILGRIMS, readers are in for a treat.Tekulve is a delightful writer — fresh and unafraid.I can't truly single out a favorite story from the book. They have all stayed with me.One thing I really admire:How Tekulve uses her own poems to serve as transitions from one prose piece to the next. That strategy really worked for me, and deepened my appreciation of the book.
