I'm sure you're all wondering why I read a nutrition book that's almost as old as I am. Well, most of the additives mentioned are still in our food (confirmed by label-checking) and the majority of nutrition information is still applicable. There is also frequent mention of celiac disease as well as other medical maladies proper nutrition can eliminate. Of course, there's probably TONS more additives this book is missing, other sources listed to contact for information may be eliminated, and some of the information has been corrected but it's not a bad start for anyone concerned about their diet. My problem is that Mindell throws TONS of advice at you about various foods and combinations, which can sometimes be overwhelming. He tried to ameliorate this problem by categorizing chapters by meal or advice by chronic condition but I still feel a tad confused beyond "eat minimally processed food". Hopefully, his Vitamin Bible was clearer.
